For the study of ecology of soil by extracting motile organisms using the effects of heat and light. Also can be used for both dry and wet extraction of soil organisms.

This apparatus comprises:

• 1pc. Cylindrical lamp house 25cm L x 11cm dia with a BC lamp holder mounted on a s.s. support which can be moved up or down to control the surface temperature of the soil. Fitted with 1m 3-core cable. The Lamp house is bolted to a retort boss for use on a vertical support rod 10mm to 13mm dia.
• 1 pc. Lamp, BC 40W 240V a.c.
• 1 pc. Plastic funnel, 110mm dia, ‘polySOL’ with fine netting, fitted with a 75mm L transparent PVC tubing.
• 1 pc. Plastic funnel, 110mm dia, ‘polySOL’ with coarse netting, fitted with a 75mm L transparent PVC tubing.
• 1pc. Retort ring, metal approx. 9 cm int dia
• 1 pc. Beaker, pp, 100ml, ‘polySOL’.
